WhatsApp backup data stored in Google Drive is not secure

WhatsApp has made some clarification that if a WhatsApp user was to save a backup of his data to Google Drive, his data would not be encrypted.  Google can read this data if desired.  This means that if your message and data is saved to Google Drive it can be seen by someone else so it is not completely secure.  Google can read what message you sent to and when.

 WhatsApp on its website said that users save WhatsApp's data in Google Drive does not have the protection of end-to-end encryption, so Google can see it.  It means that this data is not completely secure.  In this case the data can be saved by email.

 Earlier, there were reports that WhatsApp could leverage Google's cloud storage services.  Which is supposed to be more secure than Google Drive.  The Indian government has been pushing for security over WhatsApp for a long time.  In addition, faked messages have been circulating which led to the killing of innocent people by falsely accusing them of smuggling children.

 It is in the midst of this situation that WhatsApp is demanding the appointment of a grievance redressal officer in India.  However, since no such officer has been kept in India, the Supreme Court has sent notices to the Central Government and WhatsApp.
