SAIC, China's top auto company buying British brand Morris Garage, has launched its first SUV in the Indian market, MG Hector. With the launch of Hector, the booking has crossed 12 thousand. At the same time, MG will also launch a hatchback car with an electric car, which will compete with the Baleno, Elite i20.
The second generation MG3 hatchback was launched in China in 2011. The MG3 has a length of 4018 mm. Though it has a longer length in the UK and other countries, but when it is launched in India, its length will be reduced and will be introduced in the sub-4 meter segment.
Coming to the UK, the MG3 offers a 1.5-liter petrol engine, which comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. This engine gives power of 106 PS and torque of 137 Nm and in just 10.4 seconds it can achieve a speed of 0 to 100 km per hour. The MG3 will have a top speed of 108 km per hour. At the same time, the MG3, which will be launched in India, will be smaller as well as fuel efficient, and will give a tremendous competition to the Baleno. The MG launched in India will be of third generation instead of 3 seconds.
Talking about its features, it will get LED DRL in Curve Look with projector headlights. It can get 16-inch alloy wheels in its top variant and 14-15-inch wheels in the basic variant. At the rear, it will get taillights in vertical style. Also, cruise control, reverse parking sensors and automatic headlights and wipers will be available. Sunroof feature will be available in the top variant.
The cheapest MG3 model in the UK is priced at Rs 7.20 lakh, which offers features such as hill hold control, stability control system, multiple airbags, 4 wheel disc brakes and tire pressure monitoring system. However, the company has also showcased this car at Abions Mall, Gurugram last year.
